SOHO DOGO

Welcome to the Pack.
Membership required. Humans permitted.

Location: 1400 South Komensky, Chicago, Illinois 60623
Neighborhood: North Lawndale / Westside – The K-Town Corridor

Our Mission

SOHO DOGO is not a dog park. It’s a private members’ club for dogs and the people who get it.

We took an underused lot at 1400 South Komensky—quiet, overlooked, full of potential—and turned it into something the neighborhood has never had: a beautifully rough-around-the-edges, impeccably kept off-leash sanctuary. North Lawndale has history, resilience, and soul. We’re adding a place where canines run free, humans actually want to hang around, and the only thing louder than the barking is the laughter.

We don’t believe in chain-link and gravel. We believe in clean turf, shaded seating, good coffee for humans, and zero drama. SOHO DOGO is a catalyst—not just for better dog days, but for neighborhood pride, public safety, and the quiet revolution of neighbors becoming friends.

Our Vision

To build the SOHO House of dog parks: membership only, design-led, and effortlessly civilized.

A place where Chicago’s canines—from Westside mutts to Gold Coast purebreds—run together in a secure, structured, mud-free environment. Where owners lower their shoulders, scroll less, and talk more. We’re lowering barriers to premium pet ownership in North Lawndale with 24/7 keyed access, self-serve wash stations, seasonal dog-treat bars, and a human corner with Wi-Fi and cold brew.

No fences you’d find at a highway rest stop. No strange energy. Just pack.

Why K-Town?

The K-Town boulevards—Kilbourn to Kostner—were built with grace. Old trees. Wide streets. Real architecture. SOHO DOGO fits right in, not by mimicking the past, but by bringing something modern and worth protecting.

We’re turning a forgotten plot into a destination. A place where the stress of the city dissolves into happy barking, where membership means belonging, and where your dog has a second home. So do you.

SOHO DOGO.
Not for every dog. For your dog.

Our Mission

SOHO DOGO CLUB is not a dog park.

Membership & Operations

At SOHO DOGO CLUB, space is a luxury we don’t apologize for. To keep things civilized, safe, and genuinely relaxing, we cap each session at 20 dogs. That’s it. Enough room to zoom, enough calm for the shy ones, and enough eyes on the play to catch trouble before it starts.

Session Times – Three daily, each with a different mood:

| Morning Dog| 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM | Early risers. High-energy types who need to burn it off before the workday. |

| Noon Dog | 10:30 AM – 1:30 PM | Mid-day pause. Senior dogs who love a warm sun patch. Humans working remotely (with better Wi-Fi).

| Evening Dog  2:00 PM – 5:00 PM | After-work wind-down. Social butterflies, both canine and human. |

Note: Hours shift slightly with the seasons—daylight savings, heat, snow. We’ll keep you posted.*

Pricing – Simple. Honest.

$20 per dog, per session

That fee isn’t just entry. It covers:

- Staffing– Certified handlers on-site to monitor play and enforce the (very few) rules.

- Sanitation – Professional-grade waste removal and turf sanitization between sessions. No smells. No mess.

- Maintenance – Continuous upkeep of fencing, water stations, agility equipment, and that perfect shaded lounge.

- Safety– Immediate access to first aid supplies and emergency protocols.

How to Join

1. Register– First time? Fill out a short form and send us current vaccination records.

2. Evaluation– Every dog gets a brief, friendly behavioral check before their first session. No judgment. Just safety.

3. Reserve– With only 20 spots per session, reservations aren’t optional. They’re everything. Book via our upcoming mobile app or text line.

Rules & Safety Protocols

K-TOWN CANINE CLUB (KCC) RULES

The safety of your canine family member is our highest priority. KCC operates under a strict code of conduct to ensure a positive experience for every visitor.

The Human Element: "Get off your Phone!"

  • Rule: Owners must remain actively engaged with their dogs at all times.
  • Rationale: This is a social experience, not a drop-off service. We enforce a strict "no distracted walking" policy. While inside the gates, phones are for taking photos of your dog only. Texting, scrolling social media, or extended phone calls are prohibited. An engaged owner prevents fights before they start

Health & Safety: Vaccinations

  • Requirement: All dogs must have Proof of Vaccinations prior to entry.
  • Required Shots:
    • Rabies
    • Distemper (DHPP)
    • Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
  • Age Restriction: All dogs must be at least 4 months old to ensure full vaccination immunity.

Behavior: Zero Tolerance for Aggression

  • The Rule: No aggressive dogs.
  • The Evaluation: All dogs must be evaluated by KCC staff. This is not a judgment on the dog’s character but a safety measure. We look for:
    • Healthy play bowing.
    • Ability to disengage from a scuffle when called.
    • Confidence around strangers.
  • Exclusions: Dogs that exhibit true aggression (biting with intent to harm, pinning with rigidity) will not be admitted. We reserve the right to revoke membership without refund for any dog deemed a safety risk.

Equipment: The Leather Collar Requirement

  • Requirement: All dogs must wear a Leather Collar.
  • Why Leather? Traditional chain collars, prong collars, and plastic-buckled nylon collars can get caught on other dogs’ teeth or jaws during play, leading to severe dental or jaw injuries. Leather collars are durable yet safe; they are designed to break away under extreme pressure or can be cut easily in an emergency. Harnesses are also permitted if they fit snugly without loose straps.

General Etiquette

  • Leash Protocol: Dogs must be leashed before entering and after exiting the double-gate airlock system.
  • Children: Children under 12 are not permitted inside the enclosure. Teenagers must be accompanied by an adult. (This is a dog park; excited dogs can easily knock over small children).
  • Females in Heat: No females in heat are permitted on the premises.
  • Waste: Owners must clean up after their dogs immediately. We provide bags and receptacles.

Community Impact & Call to Action

SOHO DOGO

Building a Safer North Lawndale Through the SOHO CLUB

The "Eyes on the Street" Concept – Now with Boutique Hotel Energy

Activating 1400 South Komensky with consistent, curated foot traffic from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily introduces a natural surveillance system to the area. Much like a luxury Soho House or a boutique Soho Hotel activates a city block, this dog park will elevate the standard of public space. Dog parks are proven to reduce crime in urban neighborhoods by increasing the number of responsible residents occupying public spaces—now, they can do it with style.

By bringing the SOHO CLUB to this location, we are:

  • Cleaning the Lot: Transforming a vacant space into a manicured, fenced park with sleek concrete planters, ambient lighting, and modern shade sails.
  • Economic Boost: Drawing discerning visitors to the area who will patronize local businesses—grabbing coffee, a bites, or a retail item on their way to the park.
  • Social Cohesion: Creating a neutral, sophisticated-yet-friendly ground for neighbors to connect over their shared love of dogs, all set to the relaxed vibes of an urban resort.

Get Involved: How to Support Soho Club

We are currently in the development phase and looking for design-minded partners to help us break ground.

1. Sponsorship Opportunities (Soho Hotel-Style Amenities)

We are seeking local businesses, design firms, and veterinary clinics to sponsor:

  • The Hydration Station: A sleek, stainless steel water fountain wall with branded tile work.
  • The Shade Canopies: Architectural shade structures with lounge seating underneath (think pool deck at a boutique hotel).
  • Membership Subsidies: Help us offer a limited number of reduced-price "Keyholder" memberships for seniors, veterans, or families in need within the 60623 zip code.

2. Community Partnerships

We are looking for:

  • Veterinarians: To host sleek, pop-up vaccination clinics on-site during the grand opening.
  • Local Contractors: For polished concrete work, minimalist fencing, and curated landscaping.
  • Volunteers: To help with initial cleanup and host "Soho Social" fundraising events.

3. Join the Waitlist

If you are a resident of North Lawndale or the greater Westside and want to be one of the first Keyholders of the SOHO CLUB, please contact us to join the pre-registration list.
